Office desks add a touch of class to your work atmosphere and reflect your style and character as well. Even with a minimum budget you can use a lot of creativity to spruce up your office to be both inviting and professional. The first decision before purchasing your office desks is to determine the decor of your interior office, whether it is contemporary, classic, soft or strong. You will want to define the image you wish to portray so that each piece you select will fit in to the style decor.
Office desks must be utilitarian and at the same time blend well with the office environment. They must be subtle so as not to stand out within the office’s confines. Most office desks are painted in subtle colors such as grey, black, blue, and white. However, modern offices have been known to experiment with their office furniture in both pattern and color, and hence newer office desks are much different than their earlier counterparts.
Corner or Free Design, A corner desk is placed in the corner. Generally it is not placed in the middle of the room. The free design is the simple rectangle desk that you can place anywhere you wish. It gives you more flexibility. In future, if you want to rearrange furniture and belongings in the room then you can place such a desk at a different place. The corner desk can be L-shaped or I-shaped design. If you choose a corner desk then it should have sufficient width. It is difficult to spread your legs further if a corner desk has a small width. It can put strain on your legs and body if occasionally you cannot stretch your feet in front on the floor.
You cannot just jump in and start painting without priming it first. Apply a layer of primer to the desk after sanding it and leave it for a day to let it dry properly. Once the primer dries, you can go ahead with the painting. For painting you would need a paint brush and roller. Apply the paint properly and since the desks require a second coat of painting, let the first coat of paint dry. Once it dries, add the second coat of paint. To give the desk a bright and polished look, apply varnish after painting it. Once you are done with this process, your desk will be ready to use. Though painting an old office desk does not call for skill, if you are not sure about your expertise, get a professional for the job.
