Paperwork or Computer, What type of work you will be doing on your desk? Does your work involve mostly paper works? If so then you need a desk that has lots of space on top of it. You will need to keep different types of files, folders, documents and other items on top of the desk while working. The length and width of the desk should be right for the purpose. A big advantage with such a desk is that it can be used for laptop as well. However, such a design is not suitable for desktop computer. If you will be doing your works mostly on a PC that has monitor, keyboard, mouse and CPU cabinet then you need a desk that can accommodate all these computer items. If you will be doing both paper and computer works on the desk then you need a design that will be suitable for both purposes.
Storage: If you choose a 3-in-1 printer, incorporating a copier and scanner, your storage will be limited to printer paper, documents, files and books. As suggested earlier, one deep drawer can be fitted with filing rails, with another 3-4 drawers for less bulky items. If you use fax, that capability can transferred to your computer which can receive and send faxes to and from regular types of fax machine. You should also consider whether locks are necessary or not.
