Office desks must be utilitarian and at the same time blend well with the office environment. They must be subtle so as not to stand out within the office’s confines. Most office desks are painted in subtle colors such as grey, black, blue, and white. However, modern offices have been known to experiment with their office furniture in both pattern and color, and hence newer office desks are much different than their earlier counterparts.
Follow the instructions to be able to carry out the job of painting easily. Before you actually start painting, sand the desk and wipe it down to get rid of dirt and grease. Use warm soap and water to wash the desk for the best results. While painting the office desk, remember to remove all the hardware like the hinges, knobs and drawers. These should be painted later on and not at the same time as the desk. Both the desk and the hardware should be sanded adequately to make their surface smooth and fit for painting. Bumpy surfaces would not enable the smooth painting of the desk. Priming the desk would be your next step once you are done with the cleaning and sanding of the desk.
